Her mom and I are so proud of her, if we knew having young people was so much fun we would have had a few more. Chasity has been accepted at USC Law School, she begins this next part of journey in August. She is presently touring Italy with a few of friends. She has been gone for 4 weeks now.... okay only 4 days but it seems like four weeks. I miss her so much, every Dad that has a daughter knows that girls are different, not better or worse…just different, they have a way of wrapping us Dad’s around their fingers. I think I enjoy being wrapped.

Billy is finishing his residency program at Palmetto Richland and has a few job opportunities in is chosen career of Pharmacy. I’m just glad that he will be staying in the Columbia area for time being.

NEW CHURCH

Becky and I joined Shandon Baptist Church a few months back. We are very thankful for the warm welcome we received from our Sunday school class, they have asked me to teach a few times and I thank them for that. Becky loves the music at the contemporary worship service, so we stay for that part..... we rock the flock.

A little matter of the heart.

Chasity and Becky insisted that I go to the ER because of a little chest discomfort. I stayed the night and the next day had to have a heart cath. I thought this was going to be a difficult procedure, but it was actually a walk in the park. The hard part was lying complete still for 4 hours, I had to really pee, but they wouldn't let get me get up But relief FINALLY came!!
The great news is that I had/have no blockages or damage to the heart. I think the problem was uncontrolled asthma.

Becky's kidney cyst still has not grown in two years.. PTL for that and neither has my bronchial cyst, we are praising the Lord for His goodness in these and ALL our health concerns.

Lord willing I will write more later.

God's little blessing

My two kids moved out of my house and into their new place on May 31st of this year. That evening as my wife and I were pulling into our drive ( I was dreading the empty house) we saw a little gray blur run by the front of our car. When I got and went over to the bush the kitty ran into and called for her, this little gray bundle of energy sprang out and jumped right into my arms and began to give sweet kitty kisses. For the next several weeks we tried and tried to find the owner but to no avail. During this time and now for the last 6 months she has grown closer and closer to my heart, she is my little “Bad Baby” one of several names for her. Her complete name is Puddin Tape Worm Bad Baby Grooms. Where ever in the house I go…she goes, when shaving in the morning she is on the sink helping (playing in the water actually) and when we go to bed at night she is right up against my side. Bad Baby had to get fixed on Monday morning and I was stressing! My wife called the vet to schedule the surgery and told those folks that this cat was my mid-life crisis and that they had better take super care of Bad Baby. Of course she is fine, and I stressed for no reason, and began to thank God for that little blessing God sent in a form of gray tabby on the exact day that my babies moved out.

Dad's Birthday

Special day, this would have been my Dad's 81st birthday. Dad's been in heaven now for almost 12 years, Mom joined him 2 years ago. Dad was a simple man, he loved America, fought in WWII, was awarded the Purple Heart for injuries he received, plus caught malaria in New Gienny. Dad fought cancer like a warrior, even when doctors told him that he had only 3 months to live, the Lord gave him 5 more years. They last three things Dad told me before he slipped into a coma and died the next day, was "Son, take of your mother, I love you, and I'll meet by the river." I'm so looking forward to that day!

Dad would have been so proud of my kids, he loved them both so much. I'm not real sure if the Lord allows those in Heaven to peer over Glory down to this sinful place, but if He does, I know he is enjoying watching those kids go and grow as adults.

Billy

Been a while

Nice words to hear....NO CANCER!! Becky and I have both heard those words in recent days. God is so good, even if the news was reverse God is still good to us, better than we deserve.

Empty Nest
Billy and Chasity have both moved out, Billy purchased is first place and Chasity moved in to live for FREE, she cooks and clean. Billy is a clinical pharmacist at Palmetto Richland here in Columbia. I see them both a few times a week, which is VERY nice. Since we are empy nesters I now have a new kitten, she is so cute....gray tabby. We call her Puddin-Tape Worm Grooms, she is a BAD kitty...but love her.

Changing churches
After 14 good years at Grace Baptist, Becky and I are leaving. We are not mad or up-set, we have grown an are looking for a ministry more suited to our spiritual needs and where we feel the Lord will continue working in our lives in the direction we are heading (does that make since?) We were both reared and trained in IFB type churchs so joining a Southern Baptist Church will be different...not bad...just different and better we believe.

LSAT
Chasity took a practice LSAT last week (last years test) she is preparing to take her LSAT in October, she did really well, she scored a 155....180 is perfect.

Can you tell that we are proud parents?

25th Wedding Anniversary party.
I kinda surprised Becky with a party (61 or our family and friends) we actually had a complete ceremony repeating ours vows and such. Becky and I dance to 1970's Carpenter hit "Close to you" for our first dance. The kids and us danced to "What a wonderful World" by Louie Armstrong and Becky's parents danced to "In the Still of the night" by the Five Satins. We spent a wonderful weekend in Myrtle Beach. Thank-you Billy & Chasity for throwing us a wonderful party.

Hope to post more later,

God Bless

Billy

First Time Blogger

This is new. Looking forward to sharing my thoughts with whomever would like to read them.

On the morning drive several thoughts ran through my head.

1. Growing old is a challenge but God is so good.
Becky and I have several health concerns but we are trusting to God!

2. I miss my mom! She went to heaven almost 2 years ago and I truly miss her and dad so much. Re-union in heaven coming!

3. I have the greatest wife in all the world. She has raised me for almost 25 years now, and I'm still not grown ( maybe one day) The Lord gave us two of the greatest kids (grown now) in all the world, Billy Jr. or should I say Dr. Billy is a Pharmacist and Chasity is a senior at THE University of South Carolina. They are both so bright (they take after her) She raised two wonderful Christian kids.

4. Empty nest begins in 26 days! Billy has purchased a condo in town and his sister is moving in with him, rent free! She says she is going to cook and clean but she doesn't cook or clean now :)

Have a blessed day everyone!
